Bands of emerald, cobalt, ruby and saffron spread across this salon ceiling, separated by fine cream ribs painted with little leafy stems. The curved vault gathers above a horseshoe arch, where further layers of colour frame a view into the next room. Small floral shapes cover the painted surfaces, while blue, cream and mustard ceramic patterns run around the lower walls. Spring sunlight enters through tall windows and brings the textured pigments gently to life.

The furnishings give the extraordinary ceiling room to breathe. Ivory upholstered benches rest beside the windows, and a low octagonal table holds a shallow turquoise bowl. Leafy branches in glazed vessels repeat the garden colours visible outside. Underfoot, pale and dark wooden pieces form a large interlocking parquet pattern that changes with the light. Seen through an open carved door, the room feels both intimate and expansive, with successive arches drawing the eye toward flowering trees. The photograph celebrates the skill of painted plaster, ceramic decoration and patterned timber within one remarkable interior.
