The Sunburst Ceramic Hall
Published · Updated
A great amber sunburst window fills the end of this vaulted ceramic hall. Long rays of coloured glass rise from a deep orange centre, spreading beneath the cream ceiling. The entire shape appears again in the reflecting basin below, softened by gentle ripples. Pale balconies run along both sides of the hall, their geometric rails and repeated arches giving the large space a clear, balanced rhythm.
Tall ceramic vessels stand on low stone blocks beside the water. Their cream, green and cobalt glazes carry floral patterns that reward a closer look without competing with the window. Warm lanterns line the galleries, and a tiled fountain wall introduces another layer of blue and green at the far end. The stone walkways remain open, letting the displays and their reflections define the space. A dark curved handrail frames the foreground, grounding the view at the basin's edge.
