Long gallery of tall pointed terracotta brick arches with narrow garden windows, warm floor lights, ceramic vessels and dark benches.

The Terracotta Arch Gallery

Published · Updated

A long procession of terracotta arches gives this gallery its dramatic sense of height. The brick ribs rise from the floor and meet in narrow rounded points, repeating toward a distant doorway. Each arch reveals small variations in colour and mortar, making the masonry feel carefully assembled rather than perfectly uniform. Warm lights at floor level graze the brick surfaces, while tall narrow windows introduce a cool view of dark cypress trees outside.

The furnishings are deliberately spare. Pale stone plinths hold a few rounded ceramic vessels, and simple dark wooden benches provide places to pause along the route. Their low forms leave the architecture fully visible. The polished dark floor catches amber reflections from the lights and blue tones from the windows, connecting the warm brick to the cooler garden. The complete room reads as a sequence of repeated curves, with fine texture rewarding a closer look.
