Three pelicans dip their bills into the current
Published · Updated
Three pelicans dip their long orange bills toward the current in a loose diagonal line. The nearest bird lowers its bill into the water, the middle one lifts a dripping pouch, and the far bird watches the ripples ahead. Their white folded wings remain separate above the dark river surface.
Small waves curl around the floating bodies and scatter bright reflections between them. An autumn reed bank borders the river beyond, with low trees and pale mountain peaks rising in the distance. The broad view connects the repeated feeding movements to the lively current, while the different head angles keep each bird distinct within the group.
