Tumbleweed rolls through the desert town
Published · Updated
A tumbleweed rolls through a weathered desert street, its open sphere of pale twigs catching the low sunlight. A small dust trail follows the plant across reddish gravel, and a second, much smaller tumbleweed appears farther along the road. Long shadows give the movement a direction without blurring the delicate branches. The street remains empty of people and vehicles, leaving the dry plant as the only lively element among the settled buildings. A shaded boardwalk runs close to the camera on the right.
Wooden false fronts line the opposite side, with worn planks, square windows and covered verandas supported by plain posts. Their uneven heights make a loose rhythm toward the far end of the street. Faded green and warm brown surfaces catch different amounts of sun, while small shrubs gather near the edges of the raised walkways. Rocky desert hills rise beyond the roofs beneath blue-gray clouds with brighter openings. The scene holds the modest scale of a preserved town: practical buildings, a wide unpaved road and one wind-driven plant moving through the afternoon light.
