Underwater Forest with Hanging Green Threads
Published · Updated
An underwater forest rises from a dark, uneven lakebed. The nearest drowned tree trunks retain their broken branches, with long green strands hanging from the wood in loose curtains. Farther trees grow faint in the blue water, creating a deep passage between the upright forms and the scattered stones below.
Blue lake light filters through the rippling surface at the top of the view. Small particles catch the light without hiding the rough bark or the fine growth along the branches. The tall composition follows the trunks upward, moving from the shadowed lakebed to the pale surface. No diver or equipment interrupts the quiet layers of wood, water and suspended green threads.
