Yellow cords stretched between tall wooden frames create curved open surfaces in a sunlit stone courtyard gallery

The Yellow Thread Vault

Published · Updated

Straight yellow threads create a series of sweeping curves across the courtyard gallery. Each cord runs between timber rails, yet together they form narrow waists and broad surfaces that seem to twist in the light. Where two layers cross, fine diamond patterns appear and disappear against the pale walls. The installation stays open enough to reveal the dark doorway at the back, giving the eye a clear route through its shifting geometry.

Wooden uprights and rows of small attachment points explain how the threads are held in tension. Sunlight enters through the open roof and side windows, brightening one layer while leaving another softly shaded. The cords cast delicate shadows across the limestone floor, with a little yellow reflected into the stone. A simple built-in seat and a small tree place the extraordinary structure within an ordinary architectural setting. No people interrupt the quiet lines.
