A giraffe weevil reaches over the green stem
Published · Updated
A giraffe weevil reaches outward above a curled green stem. Its red wing covers form a glossy oval over the small body, while a long black neck rises steeply before bending forward toward the head. Two fine antennae extend beyond the eyes, with tiny highlights along their segmented lengths.
Slender black legs grip the rough plant surface at separate points beneath the body. Fine hairs and clear droplets cover the green curl, adding texture beside the smooth dark neck. The close side view keeps the insect's unusual outline clear against deeper foliage, with soft morning light catching the red shell and leaving the surrounding garden in gentle green blur.
