A long-billed hummingbird reaches the hanging flower
Published · Updated
A hummingbird reaches the hanging flower with a slender bill extending far beyond its small body. The tip enters the pink tubular bloom while the bird holds position beside the trunk. Metallic green feathers catch a little light across its throat, and two translucent wings spread around the compact body.
Tiny feet remain tucked below, with a narrow dark tail pointing down behind. Glossy leaves and droplets surround the flower stem, while moss covers the nearby bark. The softer forest beyond fades into pale mist, giving the sharp eye, long continuous bill and delicate feeding connection room to stand out within a living garden setting.
