A Home within a Fallen Tree
Published · Updated
The enormous cut end of a fallen tree frames a complete little home. Thick growth rings surround the entrance, while rough bark and patches of moss continue across its outer edge. A broad stone step leads from fallen leaves into a level wooden floor, making the transition from woodland to room feel direct and inviting.
Inside, a dark green cushioned bench follows the curved wall. A small timber table stands in front of it, and a patterned blanket hangs over one end. Farther along the same hollow, a dining table and chairs lead toward a pale bed beneath a rear window. The continuous wooden ceiling keeps all three areas connected, with knots and dark grain lines tracing the length of the trunk.
Windows cut through the thick sides bring forest daylight into the room. A shaded lamp adds a smaller pool of warmth beside the seating, leaving the deeper recesses softly shadowed. Ferns, leaves and tall surrounding trees complete this imagined woodland home. The photograph is free to reuse for personal and commercial projects.
