A physalis husk reveals its orange fruit
Published · Updated
A physalis husk reveals its orange fruit through a delicate mesh of golden veins. The lantern-shaped casing narrows to a pointed tip, with small papery remnants along one side and a raindrop resting on the open structure. A fine stem keeps the husk and berry visibly connected to the plant.
Farther along the branch, intact orange lanterns hang among mottled leaves. Soft side light passes across their surfaces while damp soil and copper-colored grasses blur behind them. The close view contrasts the round fruit with its fragile weathered casing, showing an autumn plant at several stages within one small, textured garden scene.
