A Lichtenberg Figure Branches inside Acrylic
Published · Updated
A Lichtenberg figure spreads through clear acrylic above a basalt base. The pale branches divide into finer lines toward the edges, creating a dense internal pattern within a simple outer shape. Reflections on the polished sides reveal the cube as a solid object rather than an image floating against darkness. Small changes in brightness give the branching form depth.
The three-quarter view shows both the front and the side edges, with cool and warm light meeting across their surfaces. Rough dark stone provides a different texture beneath the smooth acrylic. No apparatus interrupts the close study of the finished object. The photograph concentrates on the relationship between a precise geometric boundary and the irregular network held inside it.
