Solar Furnace Mirrors Gather the Mountain Light
Published · Updated
Solar furnace mirrors cover a tall curved facade in a broad mountain valley. The surface divides into hundreds of small rectangular panels, each carrying part of the surrounding sky and slopes. White clouds, yellow trees and blue distance break into a shifting mosaic across the inward curve. A pale concrete tower stands prominently before the reflective wall.
Stepped galleries rise along both sides of the building. Their narrow rails and shaded openings give scale to the large facade, while the central tower introduces a different arrangement of solid walls and projecting platforms. Fine panel seams remain visible even in the brightest reflections. Weathered concrete brings a quieter texture beside the glass.
Rows of smaller reflectors spread down the grassy foreground. Each rests on a separate metal support and concrete footing, leaving paths and open ground between the structures. Warm grass, scattered rocks and small shrubs soften the geometric repetition. Beyond the site, successive mountain ridges recede under pale clouds, placing the unusual architecture within an expansive and clearly grounded landscape.
