The Glass Prism Floor Gallery
Published · Updated
Small ribbed glass blocks create a luminous path around the upper level of this grand atrium. Each pale amber square sits within a dark metal frame, and the repeated grid bends gently with the gallery. The view follows this unusual floor towards closed timber doors and the far side of the hall, with a decorative iron balustrade protecting the open edge.
Above, cream painted trusses carry a broad glass roof. Circular openings and floral metalwork make the structure appear delicate despite its scale. Sunlight passes through the roof and falls across pale walls, dark door panels and potted tree ferns. Simple wooden benches offer places to pause along the walkway, while round hanging lanterns add another quiet rhythm overhead. The warm light within the glass floor gives the architecture an unexpected depth. This photograph is suited to architectural collections, studies of patterned light and interior inspiration centred on unusual, beautifully detailed materials.
